Thousands of visitors flock to Orlando, Florida every year to enjoy Florida’s great weather, theme parks, and beaches. Many of our clients either start or end their Florida vacation in Orlando, and plan their Florida beach wedding around their visit to Orlando, so we developed this page to assist you with planning a Florida Beach Wedding near Orlando.
Where’s the Beach?
Orlando is situated right in the middle of the State of Florida, and many first-time visitors are surprised to find that the closest beach to Orlando is an hour or two away. But planning a Florida Beach Wedding from Orlando is very easy to do.
Atlantic (East) or Gulf (West) Coast?
The first decision you need to make when planning an Orlando Beach Wedding is whether to travel to the Atlantic Beaches on Florida’s East Coast, or to the Gulf Beaches on Florida’s West Coast. The closest beach on the Atlantic coast is Cocoa Beach, which is about 60 miles away (an hour and fifteen minutes by car). The closest beaches on the Gulf Coast are St Pete Beach or Treasure Island, which are about 100 miles away (about two hours by car). If you’re planning a sunset beach wedding, the extra 40 miles is well worth it to travel to the Gulf Beaches.
Sugar White Sand
The Gulf Coast beaches of St Pete Beach and Treasure Island feature beautiful white sand, and many of our local beaches have been listed in the top ten beaches in the United States in the annual rankings issued by “Dr. Beach”. Conversely, the Atlantic beaches near Orlando are made up of a more coarse brown sand. There really is no comparison, but if you must, here are a couple of snapshots:
Stunning Sunsets
Perhaps more importantly, Florida’s Gulf Beaches all face west, which means they get some of the most stunning sunsets over water anywhere in the United States!
